STAR-TIDES had its 11th annual tech demo at the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University (GMU) between Sept 12 (Tue) and Sept 14 (Thu). This reflects a significant growth in STAR-TIDES, and deepening partnership with GMU and various initiatives in Collaborative Community Resilience.

We’ were open during the following times:

September 12:   11:30am-6:00pm
September 13:     8:30am-6:00pm
September 14:     8:30am-3:00pm

In addition to showcasing sustainable technologies, this year's tech demo honors the late Lois Clark McCoy (1920-2016), founder of the National Institute for Urban Search and Rescue (NIUSR). Her commitment to citizen preparedness, emergency management, disaster relief, and her knack for collecting people who did extraordinary things inspired legions of followers across generations. Her signature exhortation: "Press On!" epitomizes her spirit and determination.

It was a very exciting year. GMU went out of its way to make this a special event. The demo was located in a high traffic area adjacent to the student dorms and several restaurants, which also are near the library and the student center. A site map is attached.
