Safe Water and Small business development

Recently read about the Aquaya Institute, which does research into water purification, and specifically focuses on the technology, the delivery, and measuring the results. They also are developing their "Water Business Kit" which can help entrepreneurs and small-businesses provide safe water to customers in areas where there is little infrastructure to purify water.
We added them to our Water Infrastructure page - www.star-tides.net/infrastructure/water where you can read about them and many other organizations focused on providing clean water

And you can check them out at www.aquaya.org

Shelter in Haiti

Interesting idea for shelters in Haiti, read about what USAID is doing here http://pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/PNADR961.pdf
I have a few concerns about stability, the foundation, and securing it when rains come and winds blow. The description in the article is not very well-explained, but that doesn't mean it won't work. CrisisMappers hosting webcast of 3D GeoTime Analysis of Ushahidi-Haiti Data

Our friends at The International Network of Crisis Mappers (CM*Net) will be hosting monthly webcasts where members can present projects they're involved in and share perspectives and ideas with other CM*Net members.

This Wednesday at 12:00pm EST, Using the Ushahidi-Haiti response dataset and the USGS earthquake event data, they'll be correlating eathquake and response data from a geo-temporal perspective, using GeoTime's 3D Space-Time Viewer.

Container Clinics for Homeless Now & Disaster Response Later

I have started a rapidly growing initiative for domestic deployment of our container clinics. I would like to share the concept with you in case you have ideas, interests in collaborations or know other contacts who may wish to become involved. Alone we can each accomplish only so much. Together we can move mountains. Here is a vehicle that can help us accomplish this.

I have already received interest regarding similar deployments in several other cities. The level of interest, the caliber of network and of course the need (both today and tomorrow) make this a winner on multiple levels.

HELP Telemedicine Disaster Systems

The following is a 3M Corporation press release from 2006 regarding their support of our telemedicine tsunami relief efforts in India. We post it here just to provide a bit of background on our efforts in disasters as well as our ability and willingness to partner with major corporate sponsors in our humanitarian and disaster relief efforts. The technology and our deployment systems have grown significantly since this first testing of telemedicine in the mobile disaster medical clinics we have been deploying for 12 years. I will be posting up more info on current efforts and collaboration opportunities very soon.
