Past Technology Demonstrations

Since 2007, the STAR-TIDES annual technology demonstrations have provided opportunities for network members to exchange information, develop mutual projects, and make new contacts. They have provided further channels for global knowledge sharing. Today’s limits on physical meetings can be leveraged to provide new collaborative opportunities, and we want to use this time and space to organize a virtual repository for our members to showcase their products, companies and solutions for application to real-world problems and building resilience globally.
The photos on the left below are from STAR-TIDES tech demos at George Mason University (GMU), where they have been held since 2017. The photos on the right are of TIDES tech demos from the Pentagon Center Court (ongoing) and National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, DC (2007-2016). The photo in the lower right is of the 1st tech demo in 2007. TIDES (Transformative Innovation for Development and Emergency Support) is a U.S. Department of Defense project coordinated by the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, whereas STAR-TIDES is the global knowledge-sharing network coordinated from GMU. Demonstrations on U.S. government property generally are TIDES events, while others are STAR-TIDES.
